I bought this watch as a gift. When I first got it, the black band seemed more of a dark chocolate brown.... but that's only because the rose gold "warms" the black a bit, in some lighting conditions. (It's definitely black in bright sunlight.) The watch is great! The recipient loves it. It's also easy to adjust the watch band, if you have the right tools. I bought this watch for my husband as anniversary gift, and it was well received except for the fact that Amazon would not allow me to ship it back to be adjusted (even if I paid the shipping), it was way too big even though my husband is "husky" and tall. The instructions on how to adjust it at home are poorly written, confusing, and cumbersome even for an experienced watch wearer. The color is a subtle rose-gold, not too bright, perfect for a man who doesn't care for a plain/boring watch, but is by no means metro in style. My husband is a good ole' boy type, and doesn't wear anything the least bit feminine, yet he loves the look of this watch.
