Face of the watch is exactly as I had hoped it would be. The band is not shiny, it is brushed and a different color, not quite as rose tone as the face. I love the crystals accents. I'm glad I purchased this for myself and not a gift. The pillow that the watch would normally sit normally sit on was missing and replaced with thin piece of cardboard. FAIL. Watchmakers: I know how to make the band smaller. It should not be this difficult. I shouldn't have to take it to a jeweler to have the band made a different size. You lost a star for my inconvenience.

I wanted to get a dressier watch to wear, and frankly, the picture showed it as pink, but it's more of a pink gold so more of a coppery gold stainless watch. I knew the watch would be big -- 33 mm, but I guess it's much much heavier than I'd like, but still very pretty and dressy. My other favorite watch was a really small Bulova and it was wearing down a lot, had a very simple face, but it was really dainty and light. This watch is not dainty. I also have a very small wrist and had to have 5 links removed with the watchmaker telling me it was not going to be a light watch. He was concerned that a looser watch would be uncomfortable since it was so heavy. If it weren't studded with crystals and pink, it would look like a man's watch. Despite all these, I am satisfied with the watch. My one star off is for the not so accurate color on the website. If you don't mind all this, it's a lovely watch.

I picked this watch up locally at a Fossil store. The thing that attracted me to it was the bezel, gave it that Seiko diver's look. The numerals stand out enough to make it easy to read despite the black face, and the subdials are adequately numbered for rough estimates. Here's a simple rundown, taking other watch movements and build quality into account...

PROS:

Love the looks, but that's subjective. Objectively, it's easy to read the time and the hands stand out enough without being too distracting.
The bezel is unidirectional, only able to move counter-clockwise. For those who actually use it, that's good since you can't bump it the other way and "give" yourself more time.
The bezel is 120 clicks, meaning you can set your time at half-minute increments.
The bezel is easy to manipulate, not too sharp, and clicks solidly in place.
The date is black on white lettering, making it easy to read.
The sweep hand (seconds counter) lines up precisely with the ticks-- maybe an OCD thing, but I like that.
Water resistant to 10 atm; never been that deep, but I did hit it with a 1.5" handline shooting CAFS and water, and it still functioned.
The crown and well-defined notches, easy to make fine adjustments to the time.

CONS:

The sweep hand should be stationary until you activate the timer, with the subdial counting seconds-- but it's the other way around on this watch, making tachymeter markings hard to use.
The 3 o'clock subdial indicates 24-hr time rather than measuring anything. Rather useless to me, but great if you're on a sub or anywhere else with no windows...
The 9 o'clock subdial only measures up to 30 minutes; an hour would be nicer, especially if your dryer runs for 45 minutes.
The lume is so-so. Wish they used something brighter.
The bezel is missing the number 10 at the 2 o'clock position. How they neglected to put this there is beyond me!

OTHER:

The case back is plain and smooth, so it doesn't collect any dirt or grime.
The bezel is tight against the case, so no sand really gets in there.
The glass is flat, but sits a hair above the bezel, so it can get scratched.

Overall, this is a good tool watch-- something durable that won't mind getting as dirty or working as hard as you do. You can get it pretty cheap these days, I say go for it!

I bought this watch for myself. It is a classy mens watch with both a brushed & polished rose gold case and textured black face. This watch looks like those watches that are worth $500 and it feels like it too. It is an extremely well-made timepiece by a reputable watch maker.

Fossil Men's ME1099 Watch By DAVID
When I first saw this unique watch I knew I had to add it to my collection.

This watch is automatic (self-winding) and a quartz (battery powered) watch. It is a calendar watch, has a separate 24 hour dial and has the features of a skeletal watch. However it is NOT a chronograph watch. I knew this going into the purchase despite the disruption claiming that it is. The picture of the watch made it look like a GMT watch, but the 24hour dial cannot be set independently so the only way it could display GMT time is if the hour hand is set to GMT time as well.

It is difficult to determine the accuracy of this watch. Even though the hour and minute hands are run by the quartz crystal, the second is powered by the automatic movement, and is considered to be merely ornamental by the manufacturer.

The watch claims that it is water resistant up to 50 meters, but the manual that comes with the watch states that you must NOT go swimming while wearing it. The back of the watch is secured by four Philip head screws and has no indentations for a wrench to grab on to.

It comes with a ten year warranty. Though impressive in duration, the manual says that unauthorized repairs will void the warranty. The wording is vague. I am not sure that if you change the battery yourself if it will void the warranty.

An argument could be made that this watch leans to form over function, however I like this watch. I would recommend it; just keep in mind its limitations.

As a person in the visual arts, I tend to choose form over substance. It's a fault, but I live with it. This watch is an excellent example. I bought it because it's beautiful, but it has drawbacks. The hour hand is difficult to read when it's on the left side and the light is dim. The date; week; and second hand are very small and therefore hard to read. But I love it because ... it's beautiful.

Too many watches look alike. This one is one of the few that is a bit different. The tortoise-shell resin doesn't try to imitate the real thing but, rather, copies "samples" it in resin. Cool.

The band was too large for her. She took it to a jeweler who quickly (and cheaply) took out a few links.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, who immediately loved its design and features. He has a fairly skinny wrist for a man, and the watch is fairly large, but it doesn't look huge. It's a good size. The numerals are big and easy to read (and they glow in the dark!), and the chronograph feature is useful. Although it can't be seen very clearly in the picture, it also has the day of the month in it, which is one of the things that my boyfriend said he liked. Incidentally, it also comes packaged in an adorable orange and cream vintage tin. All in all, great purchase!!1 of 1

This product is absolutely amazing! The picture doesn't nearly describe how great this watch looks. There's a great weight to it without being insanely heavy and the face is unbelievable. The dark metal color really accents and the texture around the face adds a really nice touch. I will say that the wristband squeaks just a bit like other people have said but it's not even close to a negative because its not distracting and isn't really loud. The seller delivered it efficiently and quickly as well, which is a major plus in my book! I highly recommend this product as a gift to others or even to yourself because it is absolutely worth it. Besides it's not cheaper anywhere else!

My search for a classy-looking linked watch finally came to an end when I found this one. I absolutely love the darker gunmetal design, not only for the look but also because it matches my wedding ring. Have gotten several compliments from coworkers on it as well. Unfortunately, I do have to agree with a previous reviewer who said the watch feels "cheap." Though I don't doubt the metal's authenticity or sturdiness, it is true that it sounds squeaky when you move your hand and feels like it could maybe break any minute. I doubt it would, but that is something worth noting. Don't let that stop you from buying this great watch though - that minor setback is just something you should be aware of.

I bought this watch for my son, however, he didn't care for it as he didn't want to get is sized... however, when the watch came in, I fell in love with it and love fossil products because they are affordable and attractive. I was delighted that he didn't want it, so I bought it from him with goalie gloves.... lol. This watch is an excellent buy. It doesn't loose time and its an attractive watch. The only complaint I have is that the hands on the watch are black as well and I have a hard time seeing them sometimes. Loved the watch when I got it. About a week into owning it, the bezel fell off, as apparently they just glue them on. Can't believe the poor quality for the price. Would never buy a fossil watch again.

This is the most fun I have had for around a hundred twenty bucks! It is heavy but amazingly comfortable. Nothing gouging me. The display looks like a wall clock. I love playing around with the chronograph. I can actually read the three sub-dials clearly. The date window is a bit small. If this had been addressed the watch would have received 5 stars. It is massive and impressive. Fit and function is stellar for a watch in this price range. Even the second hand is aligned with the ticks around the dial. I just love it. Lots of character. As I drove home I looked down at the bezel and realized it rotates! I thought it was fixed. This means I can time my student's class assignments with ease. Great for a science teacher that can use a readable chronograph watch. I'll leave my Citizen Skyhawk at home from now on.

I've owned Guess and Kenneth Cole watches. I was looking at the citizen watches but came across this Fossil JR1353 Nate series. Very inexpensive compared to citizens and others. Its a big watch however I'm a big guy so it only makes sense to get a big watch...=). I needed an extra link and Fossil will send you 2 free links.

For the price, you can't go wrong. Saves you a little to go and get another in a couple years to stay with the trends. I take care of my watches so I'm sure this will go for several years. With an 11-year warranty and great things I've heard about their customer support, you can't go wrong with that either.

Poor Quality Band and False Descrption ruin a nice looking watch By Light027
This watch looks nice, almost like something out of the past. It's pretty good sized and keeps good time. Unfortunately, that's about it for the pros.

On the downside:
*The band is flimsy, hollow, and feels about as sturdy as an aluminum can.
*The description states that it is "Luminous", neither the hands, ticks or anything else glows. (making it pretty hard to read in the dark)
*Fossil's single button clasp barely holds the band closed
*At $150 it's $50 more than other Fossil "Nate" watches on Amazon, and around $25+ more than the same watch elsewhere online (Newegg, etc)

I wanted to like this watch, I still love the way it looks; but it felt like junk sitting on my wrist. While this could be fixed with a new band, a replacement with the same burnished steel would be very hard to find; while going with a different band would ruin the look of the burnished style.

Watch looks good but comes with no instructions in the box and those available on the Fossil web site are not much help. Smaller dials, 24 hours, seconds and timer are too small to be of any practical use and the minute and hour hands get in the way of those smaller dials. But the watch looks good.

I bought this for myself as a gift for my birthday back in May 2012 and still love it! I initially wanted a flashy Micheal Korrs watch but when I found out Fossil actually makes their watches I decided to just go with Fossil. I love this watch and get compliments on it. The only negative thing is that between the "diamonds", it gets a bit dusty and if you look real close it looks a bit dirty but I'm not sure how to clean it w/o getting the watch messed up. Maybe an old toothbrush. Otherwise, this is a really classy masculine yet blingy watch! Can't wait to buy others! Oh an yeah, it tells time :P

Although certainly not a luxury watch, the Fossil line is a solid timepiece and this model is no exception. I have a pretty extensive watch collection and this is my third Fossil in my lineup and I've always been pleased with their functionality and style. It's a large face but one that doesn't overwhelm. A good value for the money.

I purchased this watch case for my husband for his birthday. He has several of the bigger watches that would not be able to fit into some of the smaller cases. This case is heavy and seems to be well constructed. The only downside is that it may cost me more money as my husband really likes the way the watches are displayed and it makes them look very nice, so plans to purchase more of the higher end watches now. He feels the lower end watches are not worthy of being put into this case.

Decent box with problems in the overall fit-and-finish By Dave
Having bought a few of these types of boxes now and being totally dissapointed by all of them I think I have an understanding of the sub $150 collectors watch box industry. Too be blunt, it is terrible and they are all made in the orient with absolutely no quality control, but absent the desire to spend $900 on a man-made box and without the time to make my own out of zebra wood or something attractive I am having to settle on an online market that does not offer low-end quality. I am rating this product 3-stars instead of 2 because I have seen comparable models for the price and they are worthless while this product does function properly and is aesthetically pleasing once the bottom drawer's handle is replaced.

The top is glass, not plastic, which is a plus for solar watches and to charge lume's. Plus it is great to be able to peep in and check out your collection from time to time.

The clasp, as another reviewer mentioned, has very fine contact points and is not very easy to open and would be nigh impossible with large fingers. The clasp also doesnt lock very well and needs help when closed softly. It is attractive, however, and adds a very classy modern look to the carbon fiber "leather" weave.

The bottom drawer has a cheap $0.25 handle that suggests the manufacturer used spare parts from another model on this design. It doesnt match (being a polished silver color while the clasp is a gun-metal polished steel) and takes away from the appearance of the box. I removed mine and will be putting a nice velvet fabric in its place or a more modern looking design from Ace hardware or something.

The stability of the box requires the bottom drawer to be inserted as the bottm is a cardboard-like material that would be damaged by virtually any abnormal wear and tear. Also, while the bottom drawer is well made and covered with the carbon fiber "leather" on its entire exterior, the cavity in the box has no paint or matching material and looks like a cheap cardboard opening. The bottom drawer must be left where it is and cannot be removed for watch band/accessory storage. For most this will not be a problem as they are buying this for the extra watch storage and will leave the drawer in the box at all times.

The pillows, as other reviewers stated, are half-moon shaped and not stitched or stuffed very well. At the price point they are about as good as any others I have seen.

I do, however, love the fact that there is about half and inch of clearance between the glass in the top of the box and the tops of the watches. Other boxes I own do not have a recessed pillow compartment and large watches can touch the glass when not carefully placed.

Also, I applauded the packaging in the feedback section and I will do so again here. Product was extremely well packaged and shipped quickly.

Overall this box is above average for the price, has a ton of watch storage, but its problems with the fit and finish and specifically the design flaws for the 2nd drawer will force me to replace this as soon as I can find something better.

Beautiful watch, not ostentatious. The nude leather is unobtrusive, and the white face is easy to read. I expected more of a gold-tone, and the hardware on this seems to be rose gold, but it's still lovely and doesn't clash with my wedding ring. Shipping took a little longer than the other items ordered through Prime at the same time. Can't beat the price -- almost twenty-five percent less expensive than purchasing from my local Fossil store.

It is a rather heavy watch, the band runs a bit small for large wrists. The chronograph stopwatch runs itself backwards to reset, getting a second time measure requires some time for it to reset if you're timing a steak for 5 minute sides to grill, it has to run the second hand around 5 times until it resets to "0".

Purchased this Fossil CE1007 for my wife for birthday in June 13. The watch does not run comtinuously. We have to constantly reset the time, even though the battery is new. There is not indication in the booklet that the watch must be worn inorder to keep it running. I plan on returning the watch to amazon.

I ordered this watch 2 months ago and so far have been very pleased with it. I often receive compliments it. The main reasons I wanted this watch were because of the date chronograph on it, it's water-proof, and because the sharp black/glitz contrast. A couple small drawbacks though are that the date numbers are fairly small, so it's tough to see exactly what the date is, and if you have small wrists like I do, I haven't found a way to adjust it to make the watchband smaller.

Still, I am very satisfied with my purchase and will continue wearing it everyday.

Great Fossil watch. I had been eyeing this online, and even in store. It looks great, and the timer does well. Good leather band and feels great. Saved money buying it off Amazon instead of in store or online from Fossil. The only knock I can think of on this watch is that because all the marks and hands are silver, they blend in with each other so you can't just glance to see the time, you have to look at it for a second. Not a big deal to me though because the watch looks so good.

This new Fossil Relic is beautiful, you could wear it with a suit and tie, or just jeans and a t-shirt. The two tone is awesome since I have a gold wedding band, which always looked a little out of place with my silver only Fossil Blue. I needed just one extra link and pin for my fossil watch. Although the points where it mounts to the actual watch were different (these are larger rectangular pins, mine are small pins about the thickness of a large paper clip on an ~10 year old watch), I only needed the individual links, which were identical to mine; I didn't use the band because I don't like the look of the clasp on this band; mine is rounded and not pointed.

Overall construction looked good, but I can't comment on how well it wears or will last over time. It would be nice if they had a close-up of the points where it connects to the watch face for comparison. If I was buying this as a complete replacement it would have been useless to me.

This watch came in in a very timely manner, I was very pleased with the shipment and arrival after ordering this product. The watch itself is a little light and does not seem as sturdy as promised...but that could also be the material. It is as described, and a nice watch for an older man. Okay, this white polyutherane watch is a total beauty. It looks really nice, and is very comfortable. People will always compliment you about it and ask you where you got it. NO PROBLEM...yet.

The white band is basically rubber, not really "plastic". So it gets dirty VERY easily. I am not saying that I fell in a pool full of mud and it would get dirty. It would get dirty just from a normal day of school where the watch mostly lies on some school desks. But even there, NO PROBLEM, I can wash it off, right...?

Not exactly. The first few times it got dirty, I would clean it off with Soap or just with an eraser. At some point, it got very dirty, and it would not even go off with Javel. Now, I am stuck with a dirty watch, which I definitely will not wear until I find some way to clean this. Messaged Fossil multiple times, hopefully they find a solution.

So, I would recommend buying this watch, but try not to get it dirty...I do not even know how mine got dirty, so believe me, it gets dirty quite easily.
